TSA help as they can bring down illegal drug import and crime in cities or even countries. As they can find out if a people are carrying illegal items with them. The TSA has found about 20% firearms in one year. ( Amount smuggled ) In 2012, they have caught 2653 illegal firearms which means peoples lives have been saved. It is easier to use as you just get into a little room where they just scan you. Other than the official looking through your body as some people would say it would be invading their privacy.

Even though they do look under clothes they still help the safety of people in the airport. Also terrorists and bad people tend to hide explosives and drugs in places of the body that a normal scanner wouldn't be able to find.

That is true that people hide bombs and explosives but invading people privacy and making them more angry could create more problems with bombs. One bomb is better than two.

'Illegal items'? It is illegal to look under someone's clothes without their permission.

Well it might be illegal but it can help people survive. Would you rather die because of the TSA being removed because of protests ? or would you rather be that person that cares about their privacy more than their life.

Although TSA can bring down drug importation into the country it isn't completely foolproof has many TSA machines have proven to be faulty therefore able to smuggle weapons and drugs in.

The TSA won't care if people's suitcases have locks. As they have scanners to look inside luggages to look for illegal items. Items that could harm the country for example bombs and guns. They could potentially take the lives of innocent people if the TSA has been taken away. TSA helps people be in safety as they catch people importing the wrong thing. Furthermore, it is technology that can save people's lives not harm them

TSA is a machine it doesn't have feelings therefore can not "care". There have been no written records of TSA saving lives.

TSA has been a wonderful system that have tracked down people that have been carrying goods they are not supposed to be. TSA has helped save the countries that they have been why prosecuting the enemy. It is a helpful system that can save lives.

I want to improve TSA's counterterrorism focus through intelligence and cutting edge technology, supports the TSA workforce, and strengthen the agency's relationships with stakeholders and the traveling public. All of these priorities are interconnected and are vital of TSA's mission - and I would say, all of our collective mission. - John Pistole. He mentioned this as he wanted to improve on the TSA and how it helped for safety of the country and it's people.

Opening Statement:

The TSA scanners should not be used in airport security as they are a serious health hazard to society, improve criminal strategy , and the use of this technology to look under someone’s clothes without permission or a valid reason, goes against the fourth amendment.

Argument 1.

To start, many women and men have been reported being looked at during these TSA scans which can see under clothes. Most people feel like this TSA scan is invading their privacy. A South Dakota man stated "I don't think that the government has any business seeing me naked as a condition of traveling about the country”. Although this has been discussed by Homeland Security they are discussing a change to this issue “If there are adjustments we need to make as we move forward, we have an open ear," says Head of Homeland Security upon receiving complaints. Therefore, it has been proven TSA is a very uncomfortable process to undergo. Also, the security could be sexual predators and are taking advantage of the traveler's.

I support your argument as many people have reported being "gate raped" and sexually harassed at Airports A rape survivor named Celeste had previously tried to avoid the full-on body scanners because "why should I have to let people see me naked to get on a plane?... This is my body, I’ve worked many years to re-establish the feeling that I’m allowed to have control over my body after being raped. Even the thought of that leaves me feeling dirty and vulnerable again."

You have a good point but the thing is someone can say that and still have the control of guns or drugs. They could be acting in such a way that they will not go through the TSA scanner as they don't want there privacy to be invaded. At the end of the day TSA is doing a good thing in finding whether people are in control of illegal substances. It helps so there won't be a war spreading around the world because of maybe a bombing because the TSA were banned in an airport and therefore the terrorist wouldn't be caught and would be able to carry out their duty.

Argument 3:

To add on, criminals are becoming more technologically advanced and can change their strategies to get through the scanners at the airport. TSA scanners have been proven to be easily hacked so anyone could get through the scanner. Furthermore, because this device is technology, there is a chance that there will be an issue with the scanner and therefore passengers with dangerous items could get through. New threats would be created to the people who work for the TSA and this device so people's lives would be at risk.

Argument 4.

Finally, these searches could be very long and delay airport time and people who aren’t guilty of anything could miss their flight. Have you ever gotten really stressed at the airport when you saw that there was a long line at the security checkpoint? Have you ever been close to missing or actually missed your flight because of this? This is clearly not okay and which is why TSA searches should not be performed.

Side: TSA searches are wrong

I support your argument because I personally have almost missed that flight because of the long line and also I wrote argument 4.

As the evidence clearly shows, TSA searches without permission are wrong, unfair and illegal as they prove to be a health hazard, a privacy infiltration and an inconvenience to society as a whole.

Argument 2:

In addition, TSA scanners are very radioactive and are a major health hazard to pregnant women and elderly as well as the public Body Scanners can give you cancer they are a health hazard for radiation (According to the University of California at San Francisco, many people, especially ones who are more tender than others, are likely to get cancer from the machines they have to go through. This is as stated before a big problem and if a machine was to be faulty then that could potentially harm a citizen for life. TSA is uses millimeter wave technology The fact that millimeter wave technology is used in the treatment of skin cancer (due to its known skin-heating properties), means it undeniably has an effect on human cells. This heating is a direct result of microwave frequencies entering the skin and inducing a certain level of atomic motion within the cellular structure. Therefore, this can be a major radiation hazard and should be stopped

Side: TSA searches are wrong

I support your argument because the diseases that can be caused including cancer are very serious and deadly. This means that the TSA scanners could kill you.

Side: TSA searches are wrong

I don't agree with that as the TSA uses harmless UV light that won't harm the human body as never in the whole history has anyone gotten hurt while using the TSA.
