Although anti-terrorism extremist will target the area they are targeting the wrong area . they are targeting Muslims and saying that all muslims are terrorists. But the people building this mosque are just the same as anybody else they are not terrorist they are just Muslims.
Head Argument 3
The Ground zero mosque did get approved to be built "The following summer, in 2010, the local community board voted twenty-nine-to-one, with ten abstentions, to approve plans for a fifteen-story, hundred-million-dollar community center". This means that there was a chance for building the mosque. Therefore not everybody was offended by the chance of a Muslim Mosque built next to the 9/11 attacks.
It would be overlooking the grave site of many people but some of those people were also Muslim. Many different people suffered during 9/11 Muslims included. The muslim terrorist that attacked were not only Muslims they were terrorists not all Muslims are terrorist
Although it may be insulting for the American citizens by building the mosque it would also be insulting to man muslims. This is because muslims also suffered in 9/11. It would also be insulting because by not allowing the mosque to be built would be saying that all Muslims are terrorist.
Head argument 1
The first amendment states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Therefore not allowing them to have their mosque would not only be an example of discrimination but it would be against the law.
Opening Statement
An Islamic Community center should have the right to build a mosque 2 blocks away from the 9/11 attacks. This is because not allowing them would be against the law. It would be saying all Muslims are terrorists and there was a mosque that was going to be built there called the Ground Zero Mosque.
